Arsenal are thought to be in the final stages of securing a deal to sign St Mirren starlet Evan Mooney, according to reports -with the Gunners haggling over a fee for the teenage striker.
The report by The Sun states that Arsenal have launched a move for Mooney, with the Scottish teenager being the subject of talks between the Gunners and St Mirren.
It's thought that Arsenal have been tracking the teenager for over a year, having featured in 18 Scottish Premiership games as well as cup ties for the Buddies since making his debut at the age of just 16.
And now, it's thought that Arsenal are willing to pay £265,000 for the teenager ahead of Sunday's transfer deadline, in what the publication describes as a 'shock' move.
Informal talks have taken place between the two clubs, with a deal looking likely, and Mooney would join Arsenal's under-21 setup with a view to a potential first-team place in the future.
Mooney, a product of St Mirren's academy, has been a first-team regular this season and was involved in the Buddies' stunning League Cup final victory over beleaguered Celtic.
