Deadline Day looming: the deals Chelsea could still get done

With deadline day on the horizon, here is a look at all the transfer rumours linked with Chelsea. With the departures of Raheem Sterling, Facundo Buonanotte and Leo Castledine already completed, and the confirmed return of Aaron Anselmino to the Blues, it is set to be a thrilling deadline day for all onlooking Chelsea fans from around the globe.

Players rumoured to leave

Tyrique George

The 19-year-old forward has been attracting attention from fellow Premier League sides Everton and Sunderland, as well as unnamed top tier sides from Spain, Italy and France.

A reliable source, Fabrizo Romano, quoted earlier today that the young Englishman is “close to joining Everton.”

Tyrique is a Cobham product, meaning he came through Chelsea’s academy ranks, and has since made ten goal contributions in 37 games for Chelsea’s first team. Most notably, his UEFA Champions League goal against Ajax earlier this season etched his name into the Blues’ history books.

Ligue 1 side Auxerre are keen to sign Chelsea striker David Datro Fofana. The 23 year old centre-forward has been in negotiations with Leicester City and Derby County in the EFL Championship since being recalled from Fatih Karagumruk in the Turkish Super League late last month. However, Auxerre currently lead the line to sign the talented young forward.

Since signing for Chelsea in 2022, Fofana has made four fifirst team appearances for the Blues and has been loaned out to Burnley, Union Berlin and Goztepe before his temporary but successful loan move to Karagumruk last summer which saw him net eight times in 15 games for the Turkish side.

Aaron Anselmino

Having recalled the young Argentine defender from his loan spell in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund only seven days ago, Anselmino could be on the move again as Chelsea look to loan him out to Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

Anselmino won the FIFA Club World Cup with the Blues last summer, and after a tremendously successful loan spell with Dortmund, Strasbourg are keen to add the 20-year-old centre back to their ranks in an effort to enhance their hunt for European football for a second consecutive season.

Players rumoured to join

Jeremy Jacquet

Chelsea go head-to-head with fellow European contenders Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich to sign the 20-year-old centre back from Ligue 1 side Rennes for a rumoured £43 million.

The defensive positions have been identified as an area that requires improvement for Chelsea, and Blues officials believe that by signing the 21-year-old, he would add to their hopes of both domestic and continental success.

Mamadou Sarr

Chelsea are seriously considering recalling Mamadou from sister club Strasbourg in what has been described as a “swap deal” including Chelsea defender Anselmino in a bid to strengthen Chelsea’s backline.

Sarr made his Chelsea debut in the Blues’ Club World Cup winning campaign last summer, before being loaned back out to the French side, for whom he had represented the previous season.

No talks have been made so far between the two sides, as Chelsea are set to decide if it’s something that they would want to do.
