Report: Chelsea player now set for Deadline Day exit after growing 'frustrated' under Liam Rosenior

Deadline day is expected to be busy for Chelsea with the possibility of a signing or two still on the cards, but plenty of current players expected to leave Stamford Bridge too.

Speaking after the win over West Ham, Liam Rosenior admitted that “it’s possible” that Chelsea could still make another signing before the window shuts at 7pm. A defender is likely to be a priority for Chelsea.

That is, having missed out on Jeremy Jacquet and having a £26m bid rejected for Nantes wonderkid Tylel Tati. But most of the activity at Chelsea will be in terms of outgoings, with plenty of futures to be sorted.

If you could sign any player before the transfer window closes, who would it be? ✍️

Aaron Anselmino is set for Strasbourg, Raheem Sterling is now a free agent, Filip Jorgensen has suitors and David Datro Fofana could still leave. Then, there is the future of Tyrique George, which needs sorting.

Chelsea talent Tyrique George set to complete Everton move

Having come close to a £22m move to Fulham in the summer, which would have seen The Cottagers press the green light on an exit for now-star player Harry Wilson, George has remained in West London.

But his game time has dramatically reduced. Just 11 appearances, albeit scoring three goals, George has failed to play a single minute under Rosenior. Indeed, he’s only made the bench four times out of seven.

Fabrizio Romano, among other outlets, reported on Sunday evening that George is set to join Everton on loan. The winger is expected to move to Merseyside as a replacement for the injured Jack Grealish.

Romano said on X: “Deal in place after official bid sent yesterday as exclusively revealed. Loan deal until June, full salary covered by Everton and buy option clause not mandatory. Medical booked.”

Why George has agreed to leave Chelsea in January window

It won’t come as a surprise to know that George is feeling ‘frustrated’ at a lack of game time, according to The Sun. But what is alarming is how he’s slipped down the pecking order since Rosenior came in.

Rosenior, famed for his ability to get the best out of young players, not once using one of Chelsea’s best talents. Enzo Maresca nurtured George and yet, Rosenior is set to allow George to leave the club on loan.

The report from The Sun claims George is open to a move that would allow him to better showcase his talents and with Grealish set to undergo surgery, the gap in David Moyes’ squad gives George a chance.
