'Deal off' - Fabrizio Romano just issued transfer blow for Nottingham Forest after Liverpool…

Nottingham Forest's search for a new midfielder has taken a hit in recent hours, according to reports - with a move taking Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi to the City Ground falling through.

The report by Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter) states that Frattesi will now not leave Inter Milan, meaning that any deal taking him to Forest is now off.

That is due to Liverpool refusing to let go of Curtis Jones, with Inter being interested in the Scouse native, and so the transfer carousel has stopped short of allowing the Italian midfielder to move to the East Midlands.

Forest have a midfield vacancy to fill with Douglas Luiz's loan spell being cut short, which saw him head to former club Aston Villa on loan earlier this week in a romantic return.
