The Miami Heat will have Davion Mitchell after the guard missed the last six games with a shoulder injury.

Miami Heat starting point guard Davion Mitchell is set to return to the lineup after missing the last six games with a shoulder injury.

Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald announced that Mitchell is available for the Heat against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday, February 1.

Mitchell, who injured his shoulder against the Phoenix Suns on January 13, leads the Heat in assists with 7.2 per game.

He has played in 40 games this season for the Heat, starting in all 40 games. The Heat are 22-18 when Mitchell plays and 4-6 when he doesn’t suit up.

The fifth-year guard is considered one of the Heat’s most important players. He’s second on the team in plus/minus at +128, just behind Heat forward Jaime Jaquez Jr.

Tonight’s game against the Bulls is the third straight game between the two teams. The Heat won the first matchup in Chicago 116-113, and the Bulls won the second matchup in Miami 125-118.

With a win tonight, the Heat will win the season series against the Bulls 3-1.

Davion Mitchell returning to the lineup isn’t the only update on the Miami Heat’s injury report. Guard Norman Powell will miss his second straight game due to personal reasons.

Heat forward Nikola Jovic was also downgraded from doubtful to out with a hip impingement. Guard Tyler Herro (ribs) and guard Terry Rozier (not with the team) remain out.

This will be Herro’s tenth straight game he’s missed with an injury. He’s only played in 11 of the Heat’s 50 games this season.
