Lakers trade update: LA facing competition for rising Pelicans wings

Teams such as the Lakers, Knicks and the Suns have reportedly reached out to the Pels for Sadiq Bey,

The Los Angeles Lakers are on the hunt ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline, wherein they reportedly inquired about the availability of Saddiq Bey.

Yet apparently, they are not the only interested team for the New Orleans Pelicans wing. According to Forbes' Evan Sidery, Bey also drew intrigue from the New York Knicks and the Phoenix Suns.

After missing the entire 2024-25 season due to a torn ACL in his right knee, Bey has enjoyed a career run this year with the Pels.

He appeared in 44 games so far for NOLA, averaging a career-high 16.5 points with 5.9 boards and 2.4 assists.

Given his 3-and-D tendencies, the Pelicans will only continue to generate plenty of trade suitors around Bey.

Not to mention, the 26-year-old is relatively cheap, as he has one more year left in his contract worth $6.4 million.

It remains to be seen which team will secure the service of Bey from the Pels.
