D'Angelo Russell makes clear stance on why he doesn't want a Bucks trade

The Bucks are only interested in the Russell trade if the former NBA star won't exercise his player option next year and return via minimum deal. As such, the Mavs guard rejected the idea.

D'Angelo Russell isn't convinced enough to go to the Milwaukee Bucks.

It was previously reported that the Bucks are aiming for Russell in a potential trade. But Milwaukee's interest in the veteran guard is inclined if the veteran guard will not exercise his player option for next season and eventually return via a veteran's minimum deal.

Russell, according to league insider Marc Stein, rejected the idea.

"The Stein Line has learned, however, that the Bucks were interested in Russell only if he were willing to decline his $6 million player option for next season to instead come back to the Bucks next season on a veteran minimum instead. Word is that Russell balked at that idea," Stein wrote.
