Luka Doncic sets all-time Lakers record with monster game vs. Knicks

It was the one-year anniversary of the Luka Doncic trade to the Los Angeles Lakers from the Dallas Mavericks.

It was only natural for Luka to have a huge night, this one in Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks.

Doncic went for 35 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists.

The only bummer was that it was the Knicks who got the win, not the Lakers.

But in the process, Doncic set a Lakers record. He now has more 30 point, five rebound, five assist games than any player in franchise history for a single season, according to Real Sports. This was the 26th such game for Doncic.

And most of those games haven't exactly been close in the rebound or assist categories, where Doncic often has well over five and even into the double digits.

He also had an awesome moment, pictured above, where he spun into a stepback 3-pointer that he drilled before pointing at Knicks superfan Spike Lee while jogging back up the court with a grin on his face.

It's always fun when superstars like Doncic get to play at MSG, because they do really seem to embrace the moment at the Mecca of basketball.

It certainly helps that the Knicks are good now, which raises the challenge and competitiveness, too.

Doncic had plenty of reasons to show out on Sunday night, and he certainly did his part to make it an entertaining evening at the Garden.
