Facing reporters after the 112-100 Sunday loss against the New York Knicks, JJ Redick revealed that he and the Lakers are looking at their Tuesday matchup against the Brooklyn Nets as the potential return game of Reaves.
But the LA coach made it clear that Reaves must be 100 percent confident before playing, as he remains out on a day-to-day basis with his calf injury.
This weekend against the Knicks marked the 19th consecutive absence of Reaves. He has been unavailable since Christmas Day after sustaining a left calf strain.
Redick himself announced that they expect the star guard to return to the lineup at some point during their eight-game road trip. The upcoming visit to Brooklyn would serve as their final stop before going home.
Reaves' looming return will truly be tremendous for the Lakers. Before being sidelined with calf issues, the undrafted sensation has enjoyed a meteoric rise by averaging career highs in points (26.6), assists (6.3), rebounds (5.2) and field goal shooting (50.7%).
Los Angeles went 10-9 upon Reaves' brutal absence.
