Liverpool have less than 24 hours to finalise their January transfer business. The Reds have endured a quiet month, having failed to sign or offload a single first-team player.
But that could change before Monday's 7pm deadline, with Liverpool still keen to strengthen their squad. Lutsharel Geertruida had emerged as a late target to bolster the club's defence and midfield, after the Netherlands international worked with Arne Slot at Feyenoord, but that deal appears to be a non-starter.
Elsewhere, Jeremy Jacquet is a long-term target for the Reds, though a potential transfer for the Rennes defender is going to have to wait until the summer. Galatasaray's Roland Sallai is another that has been linked with a move to Merseyside as Slot tries to add more firepower to his ranks for the remainder of the season, at least.
On the outgoing front, Curtis Jones has been subject to interest from Inter Milan, while Dominik Szoboszlai's long-term future has grown uncertain and Andy Robertson had been linked with a move to Tottenham.
Jacquet package
Liverpool have AGREED a move to sign Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes in the summer, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Reds have been long linked with a move for the 20-year-old but now appear to have accelerated a deal for the close season.
It's claimed that the Reds have pencilled in a £52million plus £8.6m in add-ons deal to sign Jacquet on a long-term contract in the summer transfer window. Rennes were not prepared to lose the France Under-21 international in January but have agreed to let him depart at the end of the season.
Jacquet, who has also been subject to interest from Chelsea and Bayern Munich, has agreed personal terms with the Reds.

Geertruida update
Liverpool are not expected to sign Lutsharel Geertruida before the end of the January transfer window, according to the Liverpool Echo. It was reported on Sunday morning that the Reds have been offered the chance to break Geertruida's loan at Sunderland and bring him to Anfield until the end of the season.
However, Sunderland are not in a position to sanction the deal at present as they do not have time to seek a replacement before Monday's 7pm deadline. Geertruida, who joined the Black Cats on loan from RB Leipzig in the summer, wanted to move and Liverpool were prepared to proceed and sign him.
The expectation at the Stadium of Light is Geertruida is set to prepare as normal for Monday's Premier League game against Burnley, which is due to start an hour after the deadline has passed.
