Chelsea’s transfer deadline day is set to revolve mostly around player sales after the club have struggled to bring in any new names this month.
The club’s pursuit of Jeremy Jacquet looks set to have come to an end after reports that Liverpool have beaten them to the signing for the summer.
This is all despite the club reportedly promising Liam Rosenior they would be bringing in new names when he took over as the new manager of the club.

Instead, it has become clear the priority today will be to do with moving on dead wood, with one name who fits into that camp being David Datro Fofana.

David Datro Fofana to leave Chelsea on deadline day
The striker hasn’t played for Chelsea since Graham Potter was in charge, and has endured four loan spells away from the club.
Journalist Marc Mechenoua has stated that Fofana is set to leave the club today and move to Strasbourg.
He said: “Datro Fofana is not going to Auxerre but to Strasbourg! The Alsatian club is finalizing the last details of his arrival from Chelsea. Official announcement should normally take place on Monday.”
The striker had been on loan in Turkey for the first half of the season, and Rosenior had not been given the chance to work with him personally.

David Datro Fofana doesn’t get his wish
As the final days of the transfer window commenced, it was reported that Fofana had asked to join Auxerre on a permanent deal.

However, given Chelsea’s strong links to Strasbourg via the ownership group, it is understandable why the Blues have a preference on sending him there.
It also explains why Aaron Anselmino is set to finish his season with the Ligue 1 side. They recalled him from Borussia Dortmund earlier in January.
