After Detroit Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff earlier clinched the nod, San Antonio Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson was selected as the Western Conference head coach for the All-Star Game.
Mark Daigneault, coach of the West-leading Oklahoma City Thunder, was not eligible because he coached in the 2025 All-Star Game.
Johnson has led San Antonio to a 33–16 record through the team’s first 49 games this season.
This is his second season as a head coach. Johnson led the Spurs to a 32–45 record last season after taking over for an ailing Gregg Popovich.
