It's been an uneventful January transfer window for Liverpool - but it may still heat up in the next few hours. The 7pm deadline on Monday crawls ever so closer with time running out for Premier League clubs to further boost their squad ahead of the last few months of the season.
Essentially, 100% of the business the reigning league champions have conducted so far during the window has been in regards to their youngsters. There has been one new arrival with 18-year-old defender Mor Talla Ndiaye joining the club's academy from Senegalese side Amitie FC.
The transfer of the teenager wasn't exactly what most fans were clamouring for in the midst of a defensive injury crisis - and failure to prise Marc Guehi away from Manchester City - but the highly-rated talent could very well prove to be a shrewd signing in the years to come.
The outgoings that the club have triggered have all been loans, apart from James Norris joining Shelbourne Rovers on a permanent deal. Luke Chambers signed for Charlton Athletic until the end of the season, while Lewis Koumas joined Hull City after his previous loan stint with Birmingham City this season was cut short.

There have been two recalls with James Balagizi returning to Liverpool from Forest Green Rovers after struggles with injuries. Owen Beck also made his return to Anfield after failing to make a single appearance for Derby County due to injury.
With Conor Bradley, Jeremie Frimpong and Giovanni Leoni all sidelined, defensive reinforcements would certainly be the top priority should Liverpool look to quickly add to their squad - which they reportedly are attempting to do.

The Athletic reported on Sunday that the Reds are in talks with Sunderland over a loan deal for defender Lutsharel Geertruida. Having played under Arne Slot at Feyenoord, the Dutchman's ability to play across the backline and midfield would provide the team with much-needed cover across several positions.
Due to his parent club being RB Leipzig, the Bundesliga side would need to break the loan agreement with the Black Cats while the Reds will need to agree a deal with both Leipzig and Sunderland.
The newly-promoted side will require a replacement and compensation in the event of Geertruida's departure. Liverpool seldom trigger permanent deals in the case of an injury crisis, especially in January, making a temporary move for a player familiar with Slot's methods an agreeable transfer.

A deal less likely to happen would be one for Bayern Munich's Dayot Upamecano. The Frenchman's contract in Bavaria expires at the end of the season and he's yet to agree a new deal. An international team-mate of Ibrahima Konate, the 26-year-old has been linked with a move to Anfield with Sky Sports Germany claiming the centre-back is 'waiting' for the Reds and Real Madrid.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool's hefty £450million outlay last summer has hamstrung them in the winter window or the difficulty of finding value for money in the month-long window has proven too difficult for the club.
Liverpool have no intention of allowing any senior players to depart before the window closes despite recent reports in Italy claiming Inter were willing to offer a loan move with a view to a £35million transfer for Curtis Jones, but the same can't be said for some of the club's academy talents. Kieran Morrison and Wellity Lucky - who both made their senior debuts in the EFL Cup earlier this season - could be on the move as they look to make the step up to regular first team football.

Despite Joe Gomez's inability to stay consistently fit, he's long been a valuable member of Liverpool's first team squad. Newcastle came close to signing him in 2024 as part of a deal that would have seen Anthony Gordon return to Merseyside, although Liverpool's reluctance to let senior players depart this month means he should at the very least see out the remainder of the season at Anfield.
Regardless of what happens, the chaos and drama of Deadline Day will likely hit Anfield as it will the rest of the Premier League.
