Report: Nottingham Forest ask about Chelsea star but medical progresses with rivals

Nottingham Forest are going in search of new players today, with a striker, left-back and central midfielder all on the shortlist.

The Reds need to make sure the squad is well-stocked for the second half of the Premier League campaign, with Forest trying to make sure they remain a top-flight club.

Neco Williams was sent off against Crystal Palace yesterday, and as a result, the Reds could really do with a new left-back to face Leeds on Friday night.

Mathias Olivera has been linked from Napoli, but it would appear that Forest are perhaps eyeing a versatile defender who can operate at full-back instead.

Nottingham Forest ask about Axel Disasi

It’s been claimed by Simon Phillips that Forest asked about Disasi but the player is now set to sign for West Ham United following a medical that is progressing.

Disasi spent time on loan with Aston Villa last season but didn’t have the best of times, making just 10 appearances during his loan spell.

Disasi can operate as a right-back or a centre-back, but he’s not made a single appearance for Chelsea during the 2025/26 campaign.

MORE FOREST STORIES

The 27-year-old was likely viewed as a stop-gap signing for Forest as they look to bolster the full-back ranks with their Premier League status still on the line.

Forest have to do better than Disasi

This would have been a terrible signing for Forest, and the fact that he’s heading to West Ham might actually boost the Reds in their own attempts to remain in the Premier League.

Disasi hasn’t played for Chelsea this season and as a result, there is just way too much risk involved with signing the versatile defender in this window.

Forest will only be missing Williams for one game after his red card against Crystal Palace and with options in the squad, the Reds should avoid any panic deals.

A new left-back would be the number one priority on the final day of the window but thankfully, it won’t be Disasi, with West Ham now looking set to win the race.
