Nottingham Forest make last-minute move to sign Chelsea defender on deadline day

Chelsea have a number of individuals they are looking to part ways with in the final hours of the winter transfer window.

Outcast striker David Datro Fofana is set to move to Strasbourg. He has not been handed an opportunity at Stamford Bridge since Graham Potter was in charge.

Centre-back is the position that has seen the most talk about regarding any movement in January, although the Blues do look to have lost the race for Jeremy Jacquet to Liverpool.

West Ham looked the favourites to sign Disasi, who has not featured for Chelsea in over a year.

However, Simon Phillips has claimed that Nottingham Forest have made a late enquiry into the availability of the Frenchman.

He said on his Substack: “The centre back saga continues today, and according to a top SPTC Source, Nottingham Forest have made a late enquiry to sign Axel Disasi from Chelsea.

“We understand that Disasi has been taking interest from as many as 7 clubs this window and has been weighing up his options, making sure to pick the most suitable club to go to.”

Disasi denied Chelsea comeback

Despite not being part of the plans under Enzo Maresca, Disasi returned to training during Rosenior’s first few weeks in charge.

The Englishman admitted he was very impressed with how the defender had handled himself, however knew he had to be moved on for the best of his career.

Chelsea would love to see him depart on a permanent basis, however at this late stage he looks as if he is going to be moving on loan.
