Liverpool are actually having an active transfer Deadline Day despite zero first-team signings being made in January.
Throughout much of last month, the expectation was that the Reds would have a quiet transfer window.
However, the Merseyside outfit have sprung into action in the last 24 hours or so.

A move for Lutsharel Geertruida is not happening despite Liverpool showing interest over the weekend.
However, after Chelsea were linked and seemed favourites for his signature, Jeremy Jacquet is signing for the current Premier League champions.

Liverpool’s Jeremy Jacquet signing has shocked Paul Merson
Jacquet, however, is not expected to arrive at Anfield until after the 2025/26 season comes to a close.
This is despite the fact that Arne Slot is without Jeremie Frimpong, Conor Bradley, Joe Gomez and Giovanni Leoni.

Dominik Szoboszlai has had to fill in at right-back, while Ryan Gravenberch played at centre-back against Qarabag last week.
In turn, when speaking live on Sky Sports’ Deadline Day coverage on February 2, Paul Merson expressed his shock at the deal for Jacquet, which is expected to be confirmed on Monday, being for the summer instead of now.
He said: “I found it extraordinary that [Jacquet] is coming in the summer. They need a centre-half now to get top four or top five.
“It surprises me. It’s a good signing – as a Chelsea fan I’m shocked he hasn’t come to Chelsea, but I’m glad Achaempong is now staying.”
“I’m majorly shocked. I don’t know why for the life of me he’s staying in France until the start of next season. With that kind of money, you want him now!”

Will Liverpool sign a player for the rest of 2025/26?
An exact timeframe for Frimpong and Gomez’s returns are yet to be confirmed, though we do know Bradley and Leoni won’t play again this season.
In turn, it’s easy to see why Merson may be surprised at the Jacquet deal being for the summer.
At present, Liverpool’s chances of signing another player on Deadline Day remain low, but Fabrizio Romano hasn’t ruled out an addition being made.
He said: “Liverpool now feel very good, they are not desperate to add a defender. There is some sort of emergency because of the injuries at right-back, but at the moment it is not something really imminent. Inter closed the door for Dumfries, Geertruida deal with Sunderland and Leipzig is not happening so at the moment Liverpool are not desperate. They are ready to stay with this squad.
“If there is a final minutes opportunity, Liverpool could do that. Otherwise, they already started thinking for next season.”
