A journalist has revealed a potential last minute twist in the proposed loan move of centre back Axel Disasi to West Ham today.
We are well into transfer deadline day now, with just the afternoon left for clubs to agree deals and get them over the line – by 7pm this evening UK time.
It’s been all about centre backs at Chelsea in the last few days going into deadline day, with many defender situations still up in the air.
Chelsea lost out on signing Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes as he looks set to be joining Liverpool today, but they did get the ‘Here We Go’ shout for Mamadou Sarr to return to Chelsea from his loan move at Strasbourg this season.
So no Jacquet, but Sarr coming in. This follows Aaron Anselmino being recalled from his loan spell at Dortmund to then join Strasbourg, assumingly to replace Sarr there. So, plenty going on.

The Guardian journalist Jacob Steinberg has some interesting info on the Disasi move to West Ham that has been expected to go through today. Or will it?
He’s apparently having a medical there, but is still unsure about joining them!
Steinberg wrote on X this morning:
‘Disasi heading to West Ham to undergo a medical before joining on loan from Chelsea.
‘Medical scheduled but West Ham not entirely sure Disasi wants to join them…’
Forest interest perhaps swaying him?
We heard this morning that Nottingham Forest were also interested in signing Disasi and made a late window enquiry.
Perhaps it is that interest that is making Disasi think twice about joining The Hammers? Nobody knows. But Forest interest IS there, so lets see what happens today.
