Gilbert Arenas went on a passionate rant about the selections for the 2026 NBA All-Star game.
The NBA announced the complete list of 24 participants (12 from the Eastern and Western Conferences) on Sunday.
LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo all made the cut, but there were some surprises.
Former All-Star Arenas has now questioned some of the more controversial decisions, including those involving players such as Joel Embiid.

Gilbert Arenas wants Joel Embiid at the All-Star game
Joel Embiid is arguably the best player in the NBA to miss out on the 2026 All-Star game in Los Angeles.
Embiid is averaging 26.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in just 31 minutes per game for the Philadelphia 76ers.
The reason he was snubbed is that he has only played 28 games this season; however, Arenas is not bothered.
“Naw, this ain’t it… Can someone tap me when the REAL ALL-STAR list is out?” Arenas posted.
“A one-legged Embiid is playing better than HALF this list. I’d rather watch him limp up and down than some of these guys (NO Disrespect).“

Embiid has actually played more games than he has missed this season, so Arenas makes a fair point in saying that he was unlucky not to be picked.
Gilbert Arenas blames All-Star selections for bigger problem
Discussions about the state of the All-Star game have gone on for many years, with several different ideas about improving the occasion.
Well, Arenas believes that the controversial selections of undeserving players are one reason why it is not as popular as it should be.
“And they wonder why they’re having a problem with the All-Star game,” Arenas explained. “The All-Star game is the best 24 players in the world.
“Some of these guys aren’t even the best player on their team, and they’re at this game with these numbers.
“Someone has 13 wins here. 13 wins is cool if you’re averaging 40, but if you’re having a regular year… everybody is gone, and you’re averaging 23.”
