Liverpool's transfer window has ramped up majorly ahead of the 7pm deadline on Monday. With merely hours left, Premier League clubs are battling against time to bolster their squads for the second half of the season.
The Reds' business this month had been focused on their youth players, with the only new arrival being 18-year-old defender Mor Talla Ndiaye, who has joined the club's academy from Senegalese outfit Amitie FC. The signing of the teenager wasn't exactly what fans were anticipating during a defensive injury crisis - especially after missing out on Marc Guehi before his switch to Manchester City - but the talented youngster could prove to be shrewd business in the future.
However, the club have made a huge splash to secure the signing of 20-year-old Rennes centre-back Jeremy Jacquet ahead of a summer transfer. A £60million deal has been agreed with confirmation potentially set to come on deadline day before the Frenchman arrives in the summer.

Regarding exits, the club have approved multiple loan deals, apart from James Norris, who secured a permanent transfer to Shelbourne Rovers. Luke Chambers has moved to Charlton Athletic on loan until the season's end, whilst Lewis Koumas switched to Hull City after his previous loan stint at Birmingham City this campaign was cut short.
Liverpool have brought back three players, with James Balagizi returning from Forest Green Rovers after struggling with injuries, and Owen Beck also heading back to Anfield following an injury-plagued stint at Derby County where he failed to make a single appearance. James McConnell has also been recalled from an injury-hit loan spell at Ajax.

With Conor Bradley, Jeremie Frimpong and Giovanni Leoni all sidelined, defensive reinforcements are said to be a top priority for Liverpool as they seek to strengthen their squad quickly.
According to The Athletic, the Reds have held talks about a loan move for defender Lutsharel Geertruida. Having previously worked under Arne Slot as his captain at Feyenoord, the Dutch player's ability to operate across the back line and in midfield would provide Liverpool with vital cover in multiple positions.
However, with Geertruida currently tied to RB Leipzig, the German side would have had to cancel the loan arrangement with Sunderland, but the Black Cats have blocked the deal after they failed to secure a suitable replacement. Slot is still desperate for defensive cover, meaning this is one situation to keep an eye on.
Harvey Elliott meanwhile is unlikely to return from his loan spell at Aston Villa with the Midlanders needing to initiate contact with Liverpool to begin the process and Slot having refused to be drawn on such speculation.
Elliott has recently started to appear for Villa having not played since October, with Unai Emery having been reluctant to give the player appearances so not to trigger a £35m permanent deal.

A deal that could be finalised, however, is the capture of Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes - though the young centre-back will not arrive at Anfield until the summer.
The Reds have secured a pre-contract arrangement worth an initial £55million plus around £5m in add-ons for the 20-year-old French star, who was wanted by both Chelsea and Manchester United.
French journalist Julien Laurens wrote on X: "I can’t stress enough what a superb signing Jeremy Jacquet will be for Liverpool! He is a special talent and has everything to become one of the best defenders in the world. And he is Paris born and bred too which makes him even more special!"

Liverpool have no plans to allow any first-team players to leave before the window shuts, despite recent claims from Italy suggesting Inter were prepared to offer a loan deal with an option for a £35million permanent move for Curtis Jones.
But the same cannot be said for some of the club's youth prospects. Kieran Morrison and Wellity Lucky - who both made their senior bow in the EFL Cup earlier this season - could be heading elsewhere as they seek to secure regular senior football.
Despite Joe Gomez's struggles to maintain consistent fitness, he's remained a crucial part of Liverpool's first team setup. Newcastle nearly secured his signature in 2024 as part of a swap deal that would have brought Anthony Gordon back to Merseyside.

However, Liverpool's unwillingness to part with senior stars this month means he should complete the current campaign at Anfield. Andy Robertson's proposed move to Tottenham also appears to be off this month, as the veteran Scottish defender and club legend is needed at Anfield.
