Wayne Rooney says Chelsea fans have to stop booing their players
While the Blues managed to turn things around, Wayne Rooney believes the supporters are not being helpful to their side when they make their feelings known in this way.
He said on The Wayne Rooney Show: “I think on fans boos, because I was watching the Chelsea game as well and seeing the Chelsea fans at half time. And I think even against Liverpool, the Arsenal fans might have had a few boos as well. And I think fans need to understand as well that you can lose games of football.
“And sometimes at half time, you may be losing. But the effect that that has on players when your own fans booing you. So I said it in the World Cup, I can’t remember what year, but I said it in the World Cup.
“The effect that has on you when your own fans boo you. So I think it’s just too easy nowadays where, you know, the team’s getting booed off at half time. You know, you’re still in the game.
“Let’s try to get behind the team and try and help them win.”
