The Milwaukee Bucks are actively engaging with teams showing trade interest in Giannis Antetokounmpo, league insider Shams Charania reported Sunday.
“Over the weekend, the Bucks remained engaged with teams that have interest, given aggressive proposals. My understanding is they’ve submitted counteroffers to those aggressive proposals as well,” the NBA insider remarked during his appearance on SportsCenter.

According to Charania, the Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, and New York Knicks have emerged as the most serious suitors. “It all comes down to price point for him… a young player or a surplus of draft picks who meets that mark,” Charania explained.

Charania also emphasized the growing pressure of the approaching trade deadline on Thursday. “The Bucks have to manage at risk or reward whether you do a deal now or wait for offseason when Giannis only has one year left,” he added.
When he plays, Giannis is still as dominant as ever, averaging 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists while converting 64.5 percent of his shots.
As of now, the Bucks sit at 18-29, ranking 12th in the Eastern Conference. Since their 2021 NBA championship, the team has yet to return to the Conference Finals.

It is still unclear whether Antetokounmpo will be traded before the deadline or if the Bucks will hold off until the offseason, when they could potentially attract a wider array of offers for their star.
Any team that acquires Antetokounmpo, if a trade occurs, will have to wait to see the 10-time All-Star on the court. He is currently sidelined with a calf injury and is expected to miss four to six weeks, which would keep him out at least until the end of February or possibly into early March.
