Jalen Green of the Phoenix Suns has been plagued by injuries this season.

It has been a rough season for Jalen Green in his first year with the Phoenix Suns due to injuries. Green returned from another hamstring issue on Friday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was limited to 16 minutes after suffering a hard fall midway through the third quarter.

Green missed the first eight games of the season with a strained right hamstring. He initially injured it before training camp before re-aggravating it in Macau ahead of the Suns’ preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets.

In his second game, Green reinjured his hamstring and missed 33 consecutive games. He returned on January 20 against the Philadelphia 76ers, but he seemingly re-aggravated it again two days later versus the Atlanta Hawks.

The former No. 2 pick missed the next three games as a precaution. He looked good against the Cavs, but he suffered a hard fall in the third quarter after his legs got tangled with Jarrett Allen while trying to grab a rebound.

Green remained in the game, but he was visibly in pain for the rest of the contest. He finished with 11 points and four rebounds, making three 3-point shots.

Jordan Ott Shares Update on Jalen Green

In his pregame media availability on Sunday, coach Jordan Ott provided an update on Jalen Green’s injury. Green was ruled out against the Los Angeles Clippers due to right hamstring injury management and a hip contusion.

“It’s just the fall. The hamstring seemed to be good. Everything was good until that fall. We’re going to be smart here. Everyone saw the fall and how hard it was. Mechanically, we want everything to be right. His back to be feeling right, his hip to be feeling right, but it appears to be everything was good with the comeback on the hamstring,” Ott said, via Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.

It’s certainly good news that Green avoided a major injury to his hip because of how loud the thud was of his body hitting the floor inside the Mortgage Matchup Center.

However, it’s concerning that he’s still dealing with a form of discomfort in his right hamstring. Ott also confirmed that there was some stiffness in Green’s hip, which is why he was not cleared to return. He wanted to play, but the Suns remained on the cautious side of things.

Dillon Brooks Feels Sorry for Green

Speaking to reporters after the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Dillon Brooks commented on Jalen Green’s latest injury. Brooks felt bad for Green, who had endured a lot due to his hamstring strain, for him to just suffer a hip injury.

“It sucks that he can’t catch a better break, but we’re still rolling. The best part about it is he’s on a winning team, so he’ll be able to keep playing or keep getting better and then be able to get plugged in again when the time is right,” Brooks said, via Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.

Green’s next chance to play is on Tuesday against the Portland Trail Blazers. It’s the only road game for Phoenix from January 25 to February 11.
