Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has insisted he is "delighted" with Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford. The United academy graduate moved on loan to Barca in the summer transfer window after his relationship with former head coach Ruben Amorim broke down.

Rashford has since settled into his new life in Catalonia. He has so far made 32 appearances for Barcelona, scoring ten goals and bagging 12 assists. Such form has ensured the 28-year-old is back in England's plans for the World Cup this summer.

On Saturday, Rashford scored his tenth of the season in a 3-1 away win against Elche and after the match Flick was quizzed on the forward. He said: "I think he has a lot of potential to show. We always focus on goals, the final pass, because this is one of the ways you can measure things, and he’s doing well in that regard.

"There’s always room for improvement. But with his speed and technique, he can give us so much more. I’m delighted with what he’s giving us, but he has much more potential. I want everyone to be at their best.

"It’s about mentality, attitude during training… That’s what we want to see. Always striving to be better." Flick's assessment of Rashford comes as speculation begins to mount over whether Barcelona will sign the United man permanently. In the summer, the Reds agreed to an option-to-buy clause with La Liga giants.

The fee in the clause is understood to be roughly £26m. With Amorim gone, there have been claims that United could look to convince Rashford to stay at Old Trafford in the summer. However, this is understood to be unlikely.
