Arsenal XI vs Chelsea: Confirmed team news, predicted lineup and injury latest for Carabao Cup

Arsenal face Chelsea at Emirates Stadium on Tuesday

Arsenal Football Newsletter

Arsenal will make a late decision on whether Bukayo Saka is fit enough to face Chelsea in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.

Saka was ruled out of the 4-0 win over Leeds on Saturday with an injury he picked up in the warm-up at Elland Road.

Tests since have revealed that the issue is not believed to be a serious one and Saka has not been ruled out of the second leg against Chelsea on Tuesday night.

"We have to wait," Arteta said on Monday.

"Today he was better, but we have to wait and see. Have a response and then make the decision.

"It doesn't look like something too serious. Whether he's going to be available for tomorrow or the weekend, we'll see."

Arsenal are likely to be cautious with Saka's fitness and Noni Madueke is a strong option to keep his place, having looked sharp with a goal and assist against Leeds.

Riccardo Calafiori could come into the side at left-back, having been brought off the bench in that match.

Martin Odegaard did not start at Elland Road either but impressed in his cameo and there is every chance the Arsenal captain is restored to the starting line-up here.

Arsenal are without Mikel Merino, who requires surgery on a foot injury and it remains to be seen whether he will play again this season.

Up front, Kai Havertz has made two starts in the space of a few days and could drop out, with Gabriel Jesus potentially getting his opportunity to start.

Predicted Arsenal XI (4-3-3): Kepa; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice, Odegaard; Madueke, Jesus, Martinelli
