The Gunners are on a high at the moment; They beat Leeds United 4-0 over the weekend, helping them to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table to six points over Manchester City.

Mikel Arteta is very happy with his squad and the Arsenal boss is yet to make any new signings in January, but it looks as though they could sign a striker before the end of the window, which comes this evening.
Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus has both struggled to perform consistently this season, and it is understood that they could have a new teammate by the end of the January deadline.
Arsenal working to sign Hearts striker Wilson
According to a report by BBC Sport, Arsenal are currently working on a deal to sign Hearts striker James Wilson on a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
The 18-year-old played a big role for Hearts last season, scoring eight goals in 21 starts, earning him a call-up to Steve Clark’s Scotland National team. However, he has hardly featured this year, and so could join Arsenal on a loan, in which he would play for the U21s. If successful, the Gunners would sign him permanently.
Tottenham are understood to be keen on Wilson too, but they are yet to make a formal approach like Arsenal, so it seems like the Gunners are going to land their man over their North London rivals.
Hearts manager Derek McInnes spoke about the Scottish international on Sky Sports on Monday morning. He said: “There was conversation with Arsenal yesterday, they called and spoke to Graeme [Jones, sporting director] but there’s been nothing since.
“I’ve heard Tottenham as well but Tottenham have had no discussions with us directly. He’s been restricted with minutes this season. It’s tough to get into the first team at this age. Would we see the benefit of a loan? Yes, to get some minutes. But this one was a wee bit left-field.”
