Sheffield Wednesday eye swoop for Hull City's on-loan Manchester City winger - report

Sheffield Wednesday are reportedly eyeing a move for Hull City’s on-loan Manchester City winger Joel Ndala.

The jet-heeled wideman has represented England at various youth levels but it appears he may not have a long-term future at Manchester City.

He was loaned to Nottingham Forest last season and there was an option to make the deal permanent, one that was not activated.

Hull swooped to secure his services on a season-long loan deal in the summer but their recent transfer business has cast doubt upon his future. The Tigers have signed Lewis Koumas on loan from Liverpool, intensifying competition on the flanks.

Having started just one of Hull’s last nine league games, a move away from the MKM Stadium does not appear implausible.

According to reporter Alan Nixon via his Patreon page, Championship strugglers Wednesday are looking into the possibility of taking Ndala on loan until the end of the season.

It has been suggested they are hoping to reach an agreement with Manchester City that would see the 19-year-old switch loan clubs in the final hours of the window.

Ndala would add some much-needed firepower to Henrik Pedersen’s squad, which has not produced a league goal since Boxing Day.

After Wednesday’s defeat to the Red Dragons at the weekend, Pedersen made it clear he wants to bolster his ranks.

Wednesday have also been linked with Luton Town midfielder Marvelous Nakamba, who it has been claimed could join as a free agent if his Hatters deal is terminated. There has also been talk of interest in a loan swoop for Aston Villa forward Rory Wilson.
