Agent explains how Liverpool decision killed Nottingham Forest efforts for midfielder

Giuseppe Riso, Davide Frattesi’s agent, has explained how Liverpool’s decision to block Curtis Jones’ departure stopped his client joining Nottingham Forest.

FC Inter News cover comments from the Italian agent to day. He’s been speaking to Sky Sports to discuss the transfer rumours surrounding his client.

Frattesi has been heavily linked with a move away from Inter this month. He’s fallen down the pecking order at the club and was reportedly eyeing an exit as a result. Nottingham Forest were keen and have been working on a deal for weeks.

But that ultimately ended up depending on Liverpool. Inter wanted a replacement for Frattesi before letting him depart. They had their sights set on Jones. Reports stated Liverpool were open to letting him go, if he signed a new contract first.

That ultimately all came crumbling down, though, when Liverpool eventually decided to keep hold of Jones instead. That meant Frattesi was not free to leave for Nottingham Forest.

The Italian midfielder then started the clash against Cremonese, seemingly indicating that Inter have now blocked his departure as well. Now Riso has explained what went on behind the scenes.

“There was interest from Lazio and Nottingham, then Liverpool refused to release Jones, and in the end, everything ground to a halt. Inter don’t want to do without him at this time and didn’t want to move forward,” he said.
