Hansi Flick praised the recent form of Marcus Rashford but still thinks there is more to come from the on-loan Barcelona winger in the upcoming weeks.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Flick was asked about the Englishman’s contributions as Rashford has become a real weapon off the bench, and the coach went on to explain that Rashford is doing well beyond just his numbers and that Flick wants to see even more improvement in those other areas.
> “He has much more potential to show still. We always look at the goals, the last passes, but as a coach he can give us much more. That’s what I want to see. I’m very happy with him, he’s giving us what we ask for, but he has more potential. I want everyone to reach their highest level, to always improve.”
Rashford himself spoke last week about having to adapt to a different style of defending in Flick’s high-risk, high-reward system, and there has been notable improvement in his pressing compared to his sometimes lazy defending at the start of the season.
But Flick is right that there’s still more for Rashford to do defensively to reach an even higher level at Barça, and Marcus will certainly try his best to convince the club to give him his dream permanent move from Manchester United in the summer.
