Tottenham Hotspur showed an interest in Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas would have been the replacement.
Kostas Tsimikas has insisted that he has remained focused at AS Roma amid talk of a Liverpool recall.
The left-back joined the Italian outfit on a season-long loan in the summer transfer window. After Liverpool signed Milos Kerkez for £40 million, Tsimikas was demoted to third choice, with Andy Robertson above him in the pecking order.
Tottenham Hotspur displayed an interest in signing Robertson earlier this month, though. The Reds did hold talks with Spurs over a potential £5 million deal. However, Liverpool did not have a recall option on Tsimikas and Roma were unable to sign a replacement.
The Greece international has had limited opportunities at Roma in Serie A, having started just four matches. He’s played more in the Europa League, featuring from the outset in five games - including a 1-1 draw at Panathinaikos last week.
Tsimikas was on pre-match media duties in his homeland and was asked about possibly retuning to Liverpool. He replied: "I can only say that I'm focused on Roma: I want to be part of it, to improve here. There's been a lot of talk, so it's better to turn a deaf ear and work. It's very important to me, my only goal. I always want to give my best."
