Welcome back, Mamadou Sarr!
The 20-year-old center back’s recall from his loan at BlueCo sister club RC Strasbourg was made official today, with Sarr joining up once again with Liam Rosenior, with whom he worked for almost all of his tenure in France. The new Chelsea head coach is said to rate his former player very highly, so we should expected Sarr to play some proper(ish) minutes maybe.
Sarr joined RCSA in 2024, then made the switch to Chelsea’s books the following summer (on an 8-year deal, of course). But he was only with us for the Club World Cup, making one appearance, before going back to Strasbourg on loan. Presumably he’s now here to stay, after 45 appearances over there.
BlueCo have filled the void Sarr leaves behind by sending Aarón Anselmino there on loan instead. Anselmino was doing well enough at Borrussia Dortmund in the first half of the season, SL hopefully he can continue to build on that in France. Good luck!
