The Nets reportedly haven't contacted the Bucks yet regarding Giannis Antetokounmpo.
As much of the league continues to contemplate and potentially explore acquiring the superstar talent of Giannis Antetokounmpo, a rebuilding Eastern Conference team with a well-known past interest in the Greek forward appears no longer interested in being in the mix.
Brooklyn Nets / Schedule
According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, the Brooklyn Nets have not called the Milwaukee Bucks regarding a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade.
It is an intriguing revelation. For years, it's been reported that the Nets' dream scenario is to lure Antetokounmpo to their side. Under general manager Sean Marks, Brooklyn compiled a staggering amount of draft picks in preparation for a possible Giannis trade sweepstakes.
From the Kevin Durant and Mikal Bridges trades, the Nets have stored 10 first-round picks in the next seven years.
Now, it seems that the Nets are committed to their long-term rebuild with Giannis out of their vision. Despite having one of the worst records in the league (13-35), Brooklyn has shown plenty of promise this season behind head coach Jordi Fernandez.
With Michael Porter Jr. leading the way, the Nets are projected to be even better, especially next 2026-27 campaign.
Regardless, the Nets might still change their plans, and how they perceive a Giannis trade has to be monitored until the offseason.
