The Los Angeles Lakers could be without two players for their contest against the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday.
The Lakers listed guards Austin Reaves and Bronny James as questionable.
Reaves continues to be a mainstay on the injury report with his left calf strain. As for James, he lands on the injury report with left lower leg soreness.
When Will Austin Reaves Return?
Reaves, 26, could miss his 20th consecutive game on Tuesday after missing his 19th consecutive game on Sunday against the New York Knicks. The former undrafted guard hasn’t played since Dec. 25, and there was a possibility that he could have played Sunday.
However, Lakers head coach JJ Redick noted that he wants to make sure Reaves is 100 percent confident in the health of his calf before he plays again. If Reaves is cleared for Tuesday’s contest, he will likely be put on a minutes restriction.
The Lakers have missed Reaves tremendously, and LeBron James alluded to that fact after Sunday’s loss.
"We got to continue to get better. And that's good,” James said. “We should want to get better. … It's a tough Western Conference. It's a tough league. It's been tough all season as far as dealing with injuries. Guys in and guys out. Unfortunately, our All-Star two guard has been out for a minute and that's a big piece of our team. So, it's kind of hard to see what we can really, truly be."
Reaves has been a revelation for the Lakers. In the season, he is averaging 26.2 points per game, 6.3 assists, and 5.2 rebounds on 50.7 percent shooting from the field and 36.5 percent from three in 23 games.
Bronny remains day-to-day for L.A.after he was ruled out for the Knicks contest. He is not a consistent role player for the Lakers, so even if he were healthy, Bronny most likely wouldn’t see the court unless it is a blowout in either direction.
