Steph Curry Injury Gets Official Diagnosis Before Warriors-76ers

The Golden State Warriors will host the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night. It will be the first game for the Warriors since Stephen Curry suffered his injury scare late last week.

Following the game, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr noted that he didn't believe the injury was too concerning. The Warriors had a few days to figure out how his body would respond after gaining an official diagnosis.

According to the Warriors' initial injury report on Monday night, Curry is out. He is dealing with patellofemoral pain syndrome, also known as runner's knee. According to ESPN's Anthony Slater, Curry is getting persistent treatment on his knee, as the Warriors hope to get him back soon. Currently, Curry seems to be on a day-to-day timeline.

While Curry has battled some minor setbacks throughout the year, he hasn't missed much time. Outside of a three-game stretch in early November and a five-game run roughly one month after that, Curry has missed consecutive games on just those two occasions. His latest absence came on January 26, when the Warriors visited the Minnesota Timberwolves.

With Curry out, along with the injured star Jimmy Butler, the Warriors suffered a 108-83 loss against the Timberwolves. Curry would return to the court for their following game on January 28 to play the Utah Jazz. The star guard checked in for 28 minutes to score 27 points, while dishing out a pair of assists. The Warriors won 140-124.

Before going out against the Detroit Pistons on January 30, Curry played for 25 minutes. He made 43 percent of his shots from the field and produced 23 points. He racked up two more assists.

Curry attempted to play through his knee concerns, but it became too much for him in the second half. He went back to the locker room to get checked out, and wouldn't return. The Warriors were defeated 131-124 without him.

The Warriors are set to host the Sixers on Tuesday. It will be their final game before the trade deadline kicks in. The Warriors will host the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night. It's unclear how the roster will look that night, depending on the moves made. It's also a mystery whether Curry will return, or continue undergoing treatment on his knee. The Warriors do not have an official timeline in place for his setback.
