Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson has been upgraded to doubtful to play against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday as he continues to recover from a torn left hamstring, the organization announced.
Henderson suffered the injury in a preseason workout just before training camp in late September, and he hasn’t appeared in a game yet this season.
The third-year guard spoke with media after Monday’s practice in his first formal media availability session since Media Day on Sept. 29. Fresh off a workout, Henderson told reporters he feels amazing as he ramps up his workload and nears a return to NBA game action.
“Today was honestly one of my first days where I was like, ‘Okay, I can keep going now, I can keep playing even longer,’” Henderson said, adding that he did a lot of 3-on-3 and 1-on-1 work at practice.
While Henderson said he felt good, he said it’s the medical staff’s decision whether he’s available to play against Phoenix on Tuesday.
Elsewhere on the injury report, Blazers All-Star Deni Avdija is also doubtful to play against Phoenix as he continues to deal with a lower back strain.
Blazers starting guard Jrue Holiday is questionable to play due to personal reasons (Holiday also missed last game due to the same reason).
Blazers players Matisse Thybulle, Kris Murray and Damian Lillard remain out.
