Jeremy Jacquet has ended up at Liverpool despite Chelsea holding talks for the majority of the January transfer window.
It’s an incredibly disappointing day to be a Chelsea fan, as any hopes of a deadline transfer have been shot.
Considering it was widely reported that Chelsea had the approval of Jeremy Jacquet for a move to Stamford Bridge, how has it suddenly done a U-turn?
Chelsea recalling Mamadou Sarr could suggest they just didn’t fancy paying the fee and opted for the cheaper route, but it remains to be seen exactly.
After all, Fabrizio Romano shared a bid had been turned down for Josh Acheampong too.
Well, Jeremy Jacquet has spoken out after joining Liverpool, but didn’t give too much away.
We had the whole of January to sign Jeremy Jacquet and come up short 😡
Who is to blame for this?!

Jeremy Jacquet says he’s always had a lot of love for Liverpool
Jeremy Jacquet’s interview after joining Liverpool didn’t clear up much in terms of Chelsea’s decision-making process during the saga.
However, we have a clear indication on why the Reds were able to come out on top.
Speaking via Stade Rennais, he said this.
“I am honoured to sign for Liverpool, one of the greatest football institutions in the world. It was also very important for me to properly conclude my time in red and black, at the club that developed me – my boyhood club.
“I am approaching the second half of the season determined to share great moments with my teammates and the supporters.”
