Minnesota Timberwolves and Atlanta Hawks, which James Harden eyed this season as potential landing spots, are reportedly not expected to pursue such a deal.
With the Los Angeles Clippers reportedly working on a trade for star guard James Harden ahead of the trade deadline, the Cleveland Cavaliers appear to be the most likely landing destination for the former NBA MVP.

However, according to The Stein Line's newest big-name trade candidate, Harden has also eyed two other franchises this season--teams that are unlikely to pursue such a deal.
"Sources say that Harden, through various stretches of this season, has also eyed Minnesota and Atlanta as teams that appeal to him as potential landing spots, but neither the Timberwolves nor the Hawks are expected to pursue such a deal," The Stein Line reports.
According to earlier reports, both the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Atlanta Hawks are currently involved in other trade discussions involving major NBA stars.
Minnesota has been named as one of the leading suitors in a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, while Atlanta has been linked to Anthony Davis as the trade deadline approaches on Thursday.

Averaging 25.4 points, 8.1 assists, and 4.8 rebounds this season while shooting nearly 42 percent across 44 games, Harden has played a major role in the Clippers' turnaround after a 6-21 start.
By signing a one-plus-one contract with the Clippers last summer, Harden gained an implied no-trade clause.
His 2026-27 season is a player option worth $42.3 million, with $13.32 million guaranteed.
Harden was acquired by the Clippers from the Philadelphia 76ers early in the 2023-24 season and has helped Los Angeles reach the NBA Playoffs in each of the past two seasons.
