Is Marcus Rashford staying at Barcelona? Rumours suggest Man United star will take a pay cut,…

Marcus Rashford does not plan to return to Manchester United from Barcelona this summer, according to reports.

Rashford joined Barcelona on a season-long loan last summer, with the potential for that deal to become permanent. The Spanish club agreed an option with Man United to sign him for £26m.

Since moving to the La Liga giants, the 28-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season, picking up 10 goals in 33 appearances, including three in his last four matches, and 12 assists.

After Ruben Amorim was sacked as Man United manager, replaced by Michael Carrick until the end of the season, there were rumours that he would try to convince Rashford to come back to Old Trafford, if appointed permanently.

But Rashford has settled into life in Spain, and made it clear to Barcelona that he wants to stay.

According to the Mirror, even if Barcelona are unable to meet Man United’s asking price, Rashford would look for another move rather than return to his boyhood club. He is also prepared to renegotiate his wages and accept reduced terms if it helps complete a deal.

Currently, Rashford is earning £325,000 per week - agreed from his Man United contract but being covered by Barcelona for the duration of his loan.

The forward has also put down roots in Barcelona, purchasing an apartment in one of the city’s most exclusive areas. He credits the club with helping him rediscover his enjoyment of football and his best form, which has led to a return to the England setup.

He is expected to be named in Thomas Tuchel’s final World Cup squad, but wants his future to be secured before the tournament to avoid it hanging over his head.
