Liverpool player identified main target to compensate star’s departure–Chances of signing‘not high’

Al-Ittihad have identified Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah as their main target for the summer, according to Win Win.

The Saudi Arabian club want the Liverpool star to compensate for Karim Benzema’s exit.

On Monday, Benzema left Al-Ittihad and completed a move to Al-Hilal. He managed 54 goals and 17 assists from 83 matches and won the league and the King’s Cup with the former. The Frenchman’s exit has seen them look for options and are focusing on Salah.

The Egypt international returned to Anfield last month after representing his country at AFCON. Prior to leaving for the tournament in Morocco, he clashed with Arne Slot.

This led to suggestions the forward could leave the Reds, and the assumption was he’ll move to Saudi. Two months ago, Al-Riyadh explained he earns £400k per week at Anfield. A Saudi club won’t offer more than his current salary.

Salah, however, didn’t leave Liverpool in the winter market. Win Win claim that could change after this season.

Al-Ittihad recruitment team’s primary goal is to take Salah away from Liverpool for both sporting and commercial reasons.

As things stand, the Middle Eastern club haven’t contacted the 33-year-old or his camp. Their goal is to convince the Premier League side and Salah to leave Liverpool and move to Saudi.

The former AS Roma man has less than 18 months left on his contract. Al-Ittihad aim to convince Slot’s side that the next window would be their last chance to earn big through his sale.

Sérgio Conceição’s side have a great desire to sign the Egyptian. The report, however, insists ‘expectations are not high’ that he will agree to join them after this season.

A potential move away from Liverpool also depends on the outcome of his situation with Liverpool and Slot.

It looks like Al-Ittihad are laying the groundwork to sign Salah even though it’s not easy to pull it off.
