Liam Rosenior 'doesn't know' if Chelsea star will be available for Carabao Cup tie

Liam Rosenior has admitted he “doesn’t know” if all of his attackers will be available for tonight’s Carabao Cup semi-final.

The Blues host Arsenal in the second leg of the tie tonight, as the Gunners head to Stamford Bridge with a 3-2 advantage. Whoever wins will advance to the final, where they will meet either Manchester City or Newcastle United.

For Chelsea boss Rosenior, most of his players are fit and ready for the game, aside from a handful of long-term absences.

Levi Colwill, Tosin Adarabioyo and Romeo Lavia have missed the majority of Chelsea’s 2025/26 campaign thanks to ACL, hamstring and thigh injuries respectively. But last weekend’s injury to winger Jamie Gittens was certainly a setback for Rosenior.

The English winger, 21, was forced off against West Ham United last weekend after pulling up with a hamstring injury.

At a press conference before tonight’s game, Rosenior said: “Jamie unfortunately felt his hamstring, I don't know the extent of the injury.

“It's a real shame for him because I wanted to give him a start and I wanted him to show what he could do.

“So, for him to come off after 25 minutes is disappointing for him and hopefully it's not too bad.”

Elsewhere in Chelsea’s attacking line, teenage winger Estevao was given permission to head home to Brazil before the West Ham game due to personal issues. At the time of publication, Rosenior is unsure if he’ll feature against the Gunners.

The Blues manager added: “I don't know yet - with Este, he's a young kid who's come and been magnificent.

“He's going through a really difficult time for personal reasons and he's on compassionate leave. I won't put any pressure on him.

“It has to be right for him and he has to feel he's in the right place to perform for this team.”
