Danny Murphy admitted he is concerned for the rest of Liverpool's season.
Arne Slot’s side did little business in the window and on deadline day signed defender Jeremy Jacquet from Stade Rennais for £60 million.

However, the new Liverpool player won’t be making the move to Merseyside until the summer.
On Monday night, Danny Murphy, who made 249 appearances for Liverpool, expressed on talkSPORT how they needed to do more this window.
He said: “They needed somebody. So if the stipulation from Rennais was that you can buy him for the future, which fits the model for Liverpool, a young up and coming player, like (Hugo) Ekitike, (Milos) Kerkez, (Florian) Wirtz.”
“Fine, have him in the summer, but then Liverpool should have been looking to do some loan business because I still don't see the cover.”

This season, Liverpool have been conceding more goals than usual, showing weakness at the back.
Additionally, with a squad injury crisis including Joe Gomez, Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong, the manager has often covered the defence with midfielders.
The club were close to signing Marc Guehi after losing out in the summer, but were hijacked by Manchester City.
Meanwhile, fan favourite left-back Andy Robertson came close to leaving the club for Premier League rivals Spurs and a potential move snatch for Sunderland loanee, Lutsharel Geertruida, fell through.
Murphy, even after displaying his worries around the lack of transfers, still believes Liverpool’s season is far from over.
“They’re still fighting for the Champions League and FA Cup. The season isn’t off, it’s not written off.”

Jacquet was set to move to Chelsea until Liverpool came in, with the London based club still happy to match the deal. Danny Murphy said the French footballer ‘saw sense.’
Murphy, who won various silverware with Liverpool, responded: “I mean every young player has different aspirations and also different conversations with each prospective manager or technical directors.”
“There will be a difference in money I would imagine, with Liverpool paying better than Chelsea.”
Alex Crook, talkSPORT’s chief football correspondent, spoke about why he believed Chelsea pulled out of the deal.
“The reasons that Chelsea have given us of why they pulled out of the race was because they didn’t want to stunt the development of (Josh) Acheampong and Mamadou Sarr.
“I would imagine they just got wind of the fact that the player preferred to move to Liverpool, ultimately.”

Murphy believes Liverpool should have made additional signings
Murphy added: “I would imagine as well, I just mentioned it, but Liverpool do pay more than Chelsea.”
“That’s pretty well known in the industry, so maybe they weighed him in.
“There’s so many things with a young player, you never know who he’s always supported, who he looks up to and what players.”
