Chelsea Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Estevao, Filip Jorgensen, Jamie Gittens&4 Others

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior has confirmed that Estevao is on compassionate leave.

The Brazilian international was not in the matchday squad for the 3-2 win over West Ham at the weekend.

Rosenior says the teenager was absent due to “personal reasons,” and there is no pressure for him to return.

It is not known when Estevao will be back in action, as he is going through what Rosenior has described as a “really difficult time”.

Expected Return Date – Unknown

Filip Jorgensen

The goalkeeper was also absent for the West Ham fixture, which was somewhat strange as he had returned to the bench for the previous game against Napoli after recovering from injury.

Asked about Jorgensen’s situation after the match on Saturday, Rosenior said that the keeper will “hopefully” be ready for the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Arsenal. Otherwise, the Dane should be back for the next league fixture versus Wolves this weekend.

Expected Return Date – Tuesday 3rd February vs Arsenal (a)

Jamie Gittens

The winger sustained a hamstring injury in the first half of the victory against West Ham, and he had to be substituted.

Rosenior was not able to provide an estimate as to when Gittens will be back, but the minimum recovery time is around three weeks.

Expected Return Date – Unknown
