The Charlotte Hornets have been nothing short of dominant recently, going on an impressive seven-game win streak to claw back within one game of the Eastern Conference's final Play-In Tournament spot.
As a result, Charlotte could completely change their stance ahead of the upcoming Feb. 5 trade deadline. Although they were originally expected to be sellers, Charlotte may find themselves now more likely to be buyers or at least stand pat.
They've already been linked to acquiring Lonzo Ball recently, a deal that is much more likely now than it was a week ago due to the Cleveland Cavaliers acquiring guards Dennis Schroeder and Keon Ellis from the Sacramento Kings.
With that said, their mind may be made up on trading Miles Bridges, a seven-year veteran and currently the longest tenured Hornet.
According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, Bridges is now likely to stay put in Charlotte after having been subject of trade rumors involving the Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors.
"A league source close to Bridges said he is highly likely to remain past the deadline. Bridges' contract runs through next season, when he's owed $22.8 million. He's extension eligible this summer."
If Bridges were to stay, Charlotte could continue to ride their current momentum, by keeping their starting unit in tact. Their current starting five of LaMelo Ball, Kon Knueppel, Brandon Miller, Bridges and Moussa Diabate has only suffered one loss together all season.
However, even if Bridges were to stay, Collin Sexton could be on the move given the nature of his expiring contract.
