Celtic manager Martin O'Neill has confirmed that he has spoken to former Arsenal, Liverpool, and England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain over a possible move.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has been without a club for the entirety of the 2025/2026 season after being released from Turkish side Besiktas. The 35-cap England international has been training with Arsenal over the last few months to keep his fitness, but he remains without a club.
Despite windows slamming shut all over the world, Oxlade-Chamberlain will still be able to find himself a new club in the coming weeks, due to him being a free agent. The former Premier League star has been training with the Gunners for some time now, and he'll be itching to find himself a club for the remainder of the season.

Speaking to the media, O'Neill has confirmed that he would be interested in signing Oxlade-Chamberlain after holding talks. The Celtic boss has spoken to the former Arsenal and Liverpool midfielder, and he believes that Oxlader-Chamberlain is 'excited' about the prospect.
"I do, I genuinely do (like him). He’s trained at Arsenal for some time. I’ve spoken to him, but I’m sure he has plenty of options, maybe close to London. I'd be very interested in doing it. I’m surprised no one has taken him up. He’s telling me he’s not got match fitness but he’s trained with Arsenal for some considerable time. I think he was very excited about what we were saying. He’s a big friend of Joe Hart, and he speaks to him, so he knows all about the club. It’s something we’re interested in but if it doesn’t materialise, it doesn’t materialise."
