Vote for January’s women’s Player of the Month

Beth Mead, Anneke Borbe, Mariona Caldentey and Kim Little are all in contention for the Women’s Player of the Month award for January, and you can cast your vote now!

We began 2026 with a 0-0 draw at home to Manchester United in the Barclays Women’s Super League, before winning 2-0 against Aston Villa in the fourth round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

United then got the better of us at Mangata Developments Stadium in Borehamwood in the semi-finals of the Subway Women’s League Cup, but we responded with a fantastic 2-0 win away to Chelsea in the WSL, followed by FIFA Women’s Champions Cup semi-final success against AS FAR.

BETH MEAD

Beth was the star of the show in our 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge, scoring the opening goal early in the second half and setting up Mariona for our second moments later.

Speaking after the game, she told Arsenal.com: “I remember [my goal] really well. I think Steph did a really good job putting pressure on, found Alessia, and then Alessia obviously compacted their defence to give me a bit of space on the side. Thank God I finished well this time. So yeah, really nice goals, good composure, different types of goals and happy to get them in the back of the net.”

ANNEKE BORBE

Borbe has earned her second Player of the Month nominated in a row and was nominated for WSL Save of the Month with a stunning stop to deny Fridolina Rolfo in our goalless draw with United.

She kept four clean sheets out of a possible five in all competitions in January.

MARIONA CALDENTEY

Mariona scored the all-important second goal at Stamford Bridge, making the final 30 minutes of the match a lot less tense than they’d otherwise have been!

The Spaniard then scored our third goal from the penalty spot in the 6-0 win over AS FAR. “I feel like now we are building back momentum,” she said after the match. “We struggled a bit in the beginning of the year, so it feels nice now that we've changed it.”

KIM LITTLE

The fourth round of the FA Cup was Kim’s time to shine, as she created the opening goal, scored by Stina Blackstenius, before finding the back of the net herself for our second, making it 15 different seasons she's scored for us in.

After reaching the fifth round, the captain told us: "I enjoyed that, it was nice. I thought the first goal was really nice play, Beth played it into me off the shoulder of their player and I was able to find Stina, and she finished it really well so that was a really nice goal.  Then obviously the second, being a set-piece, a bit different, but yeah, happy to get the two goals."
