'Paid off': Jamie Carragher applauds Chelsea owners'controversial decision

Jamie Carragher has been very hypocritical with some of the things he’s said about Chelsea in the past, and there’s another to add to the list.

Chelsea booked themselves a place in the Champions League Round of 16 with a win over Napoli, which completely silenced Jamie Carragher‘s prediction.

Carragher predicted Chelsea wouldn’t make it out of the group stage, something that proved to be laughable.

Liam Rosenior continues to prove people wrong as well, after many believed he would struggle at this level. It’s now six wins from seven games for the Chelsea boss.

But the real test comes against Arsenal, with a chance of silverware.

Not good enough for Chelsea 😤

Jamie Carragher says Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez were worth the money

There was plenty of controversy involving Chelsea signing both Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.

Fernandez cost £106.8 million and Caicedo cost a whopping £115 million, and believe it or not, Gabby Agbonlahor was one of the only pundits who praised the latter.

Now, once it’s been proven, Jamie Carragher has stuck his neck out and said that they were worth their money after all (as per Sky Sports Premier League).

“Lot of criticism about Chelsea’s spend but they spent big on the midfield and It’s paid off with both Enzo and Caicedo.”

What Jamie Carragher said when Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo signed for Chelsea

Carragher had this to say when he found out Caicedo had chosen Chelsea over Liverpool.

“£110m is a ridiculous amount of money to pay for a 21-year-old, Boehly has lost his mind yet again.”

And this was his initial response when Chelsea made an offer Fernandez.

“It may be Chelsea because every time I pick up a paper it looks like they’re buying someone, like they’re going for every single player in the world.”

Only yesterday did Carragher now call Enzo Fernandez one of the best in the Premier League.
