Chelsea have now officially confirmed that Axel Disasi will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Premier League side West Ham United after deciding to allow the defender to leave the club.
Despite having all the attributes to be a massive player for CHELSEA, the big man has not played for Chelsea at all this term after being frozen out by ex-boss Enzo Maresca, who was let go by Chelsea right at the beginning of the transfer window.
He was reintegrated into first-team training by Liam Rosenior but still looked to leave the club in the winter window, and reports did claim that Chelsea and Fiorentina held talks over a possible deal to take the defender to Italian football on loan until the end of the season, but that move never worked out.
That allowed West Ham to make their moves to get a transfer deal done and right at the end of the window, they managed to agree a loan deal with Chelsea that would see Disasi make the move until the end of the season.
The Blues posted on the club website: ‘Signed from Monaco in August 2023, Disasi scored on his Chelsea debut and made 44 appearances during his maiden campaign at Stamford Bridge.
‘The 27-year-old featured ten times for the Blues during the first half of last season before joining Aston Villa on loan in February 2024.
‘We look forward to supporting Axel during his loan spell at the London Stadium.
‘Good luck, Axel!’
IcChelseanews Says…
Look, it is obvious that CHELSEA have some defensive issues at the back that need to be solved, and it is pretty obvious that Disasi is not the player to help ease those issues, and that is why he was allowed to leave the club.
But good luck to the player.
