The native of Serbia has led the Raptors to a 30-21 record in his third season as head coach. The NBA All-Star game will be played on Sunday, Feb. 15 in Los Angeles.

Rajakovic becomes the third Raptors coach to serve as head coach at the All-Star game, joining Dwane Casey (2018) and Nick Nurse (2020).

Raptors forward Scottie Barnes was named an All-Star earlier in the week, the only player from Rajakovic’s team to be named an All-Star this season.

After getting his start in coaching in Europe with stops in Spain and Serbia, Rajakovic spent time coaching in the NBA’s G League before joining the Oklahoma City Thunder as an assistant coach. He also made stops with the Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies before he named head coach of the Raptors entering the 2023-24 season.

Rajakovic led the Raptors to a 55-109 record over his first two seasons, with a roster in the midst of a rebuild after dissolving the squad that won the 2019 NBA Championship. The team appears to have finally turned the corner in Rajakovic’s vision, as they enter play on Tuesday ranked fourth in the ERastern Conference at 30-21.

More to come.
