Chelsea sanctioned the loan exit of Axel Disasi to West Ham for the remainder of the season, but it doesn’t include an option or obligation to buy.
The Blues ended up being busy on the exit front, but there were no incomings during the January transfer window.
Chelsea opted to lean on their current batch of players. Reece James will deputise in central midfield when needed and Josh Acheampong is set to stay and fight for a place in the defence.
Also, Mamadou Sarr’s recall was as close as Chelsea fans got to a signing on deadline day.
Axel Disasi was one of the players who finally got a move after stagnating at Chelsea, and he even paid his respects to a former Blue.

Axel Disasi names Chelsea legend Thiago Silva as the best player he’s ever played with
As much as Disasi isn’t required at Chelsea, it’s nice to see him finally get a move where he can enjoy regular minutes.
After all, Disasi was still helping the academy prospects and giving his all at Chelsea for the Under-21s, which shows the kind of character the Frenchman is.
His memories at Chelsea haven’t diminished either. Speaking to West Ham‘s official page, he named Thiago Silva as his best-ever teammate.
Disasi and Thiago Silva played 30 games together, which includes two semi-final losses in the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup.

Thiago Silva could still do a job at Chelsea
The Brazilian is currently plying his trade at Portuguese giants FC Porto after leaving Fluminense.
Thiago Silva’s four-year spell at Chelsea is widely regarded as one of the greatest free transfers in Premier League history. Arriving at nearly 36 years old on an initial one-year deal, he defied expectations by becoming the defensive cornerstone for four different managers.
His crowning achievement came in his debut season, where he was instrumental in the club’s 2021 Champions League triumph, followed by victories in the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup, where Thiago Silva was named the tournament’s best player.
