League executives have identified the Pacers as a team likely to make a “pre-agency” move using Mathurin’s salary.
With Mathurin set for restricted free agency this offseason, Indiana could look to move him either to acquire help at center or to free cap space for a long-term wing option.
This season, Mathurin has appeared in 28 games, averaging 17.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 43.3% from the field and 37.2% from three.
The Pacers are currently struggling at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, holding a 13-37 record.
