Lakers' LeBron James says he loves playing villain role

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James made a surprising admission about his personality Tuesday.

James, who appeared on his Mind the Game podcast with Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton, said he loves to play the villain role on the court.

"As much as Batman is my favorite superhero of all time, I also love the Joker's role," James said.

James, who's one of the most popular players in NBA history, has had his fair share of detractors over the years. He claims he's comfortable playing the "bad guy" role if the environment requires it.

"That's how we've always played it, but we can tap into the Joker role if y'all make us," James said. "We can get there, too, and still be able to perform at a high level."

LeBron has plenty of memorable road playoff moments in his career, notably his win over the Golden State Warriors in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals. He believes nothing compares to shocking road fans.

"There's nothing better than quieting and silencing the road crowd," he said.

Haliburton was terrific on the road in last year's playoffs. He led the Pacers to a surprising run to the Finals last season as a six seed. He said playing on the road in the playoffs is more memorable than at home.

"Of my four game-winner in the playoffs, the one at home is my least favorite," Haliburton said. "Feeling the energy being taken out of a building, there's nothing in the world that's better than that."
